Xray Xray General Gardner's syndrome

Gardner's syndrome is a genetic disorder characterized by the presence of multiple polyps in the colon together with tumors outside the colon. The extracolonic tumors may include osteomas of the skull, thyroid cancer, epidermoid cysts, fibromas and sebaceous cysts. The countless polyps in the colon predispose to the development of colon cancer.

Upper gastrointestinal study with small bowel follow-through shows multiple polypoid filling defects involving the duodenum, jejunum, and ileum (arrows).

24-year-old man with Gardner's syndrome who presented with abdominal pain. Axial T2-weighted MR image through abdomen shows mixed-signal-intensity mass (arrowheads) with prominent areas of low signal (arrows), believed to represent fibrosis.
